3。2 Functions of situational teaching method

Firstly, situational teaching method can cultivate students’ emotions and purify their hearts。 In terms of educational psychology, molding one’s temperament is to give him good effect。 The molding on the situational teaching function, Confucius considered the function of molding on situational teaching as “words to teach”, “benevolence for beauty” early in the Spring and Autumn period。 That is what the ancients said--cultivate one’s taste。 The teaching function of situational teaching method is like a filter, which can purify human’s emotion。 It eliminates negative factors and retains positive components。 This purified emotional experience has more effective management, impetus, infectiousness, improvement, direction, adaptation, signal and other aspects of cognitive functions。文献综述

Secondly, situational teaching method can also provide students with good hints or enlightenment。 It can help students train their creative thinking, and cultivate their adaptability。 Situational teaching method affects students in the society and life after further refining and processing。 For example, the language, class games, role plays, poetry, painting, gymnastics, music, tourism and so on are the concrete images of the situation, which can hint students。 In other words, the specific situation in the situation teaching method provides some clues to the original cognitive structure to mobilize people's thinking。 In the role of internal integration, people will produce new insight or cognitive structure。 The clues provided by the situation play a role in awakening or enlightening students’ wisdom。 For example, people who are in a certain situation will be inspired by a certain sentence, so as to solve the problem smoothly。

What’s more, the process of learning is not just passively accepting knowledge, but also understanding processing and actively constructing knowledge。 This construction process needs new and old experience, through the interaction of old and new experience to achieve this。 So, thirdly, the suitable situation can help students review the old experience, gain new experience, and it can also provide rich learning material and information, which is favorable to the occurrence and development process of the student experiential knowledge。 It is advantageous for students to explore actively and think pergently。 

It also promotes the development of students' cognitive ability, thinking ability and makes study to a higher level。 Appropriate teaching situation can provide vivid and rich learning materials。 Besides it can also provide opportunities to use knowledge in practice to promote knowledge, skills and enrich students’ experience。 Of course, it is able to let the students understand knowledge in a vivid application and understand the ins and outs of the problem and context。 Last but not least, it is also beneficial for students to have further understanding of the essence of knowledge and make them know how to use learned knowledge to solve practical problems flexibly。
