Abstract In recent years, many domestic scholars have begun to pay attention to vocabulary learning strategies。 For example, Wen Qiufang, Ma Guanghui, Wu Xia and Wang Qiang have studied the vocabulary learning strategies of college students and graduate students, but there is not much research on primary school students。 With the aim of reducing the students' burden in memorizing words, the associative mnemonic approach has been adopted。 I proposed this research by analyzing the questionnaire, teaching students new words with this approach and collecting and analyzing the data。 And the whole research last for four weeks, which is from February to March。 Here are five kinds of techniques I used in this research: pronunciation associative approach, affix associative approach, word formation approach, scenario associative approach and associative approach among synonyms, antonyms and similar words, by the method of analyzing the structure of words and making vivid or interesting stories to help them memorize。 The results show that more and more primary pupils prefer to memorize words after learning Mnemonic associative approach, because they think it is a relaxing process, and gradually they have developed high interest in English learning。 72325
