摘要在小学英语教学中,英文绘本发挥了重要作用。本文首先呈现英文绘本的定义与特征,阐述英文绘本的应用理论基础,即最近发展区理论。在新课程标准改革的背景下,本文重点探讨如何在课前选择并修改英文绘本,包括选择英文绘本的原则、修改英文绘本的原则以及修改后的英文绘本的形式。同时,文章也重点分析如何将修改过的英文绘本应用于课堂教学。

1。 Introduction 

English Picture Book originated in Europe in the 17th century, which is created for respecting children's personality and emancipating their nature。 Since the early 21st century, English Picture Book has been the best-seller among children all over the world。 Many Taiwan scholars observed this phenomenon and found that English Picture Book not only presents various stories but helps children obtain English knowledge, construct inner world and cultivate multiple intelligence。 Thus, English Picture Book started to be applied into English teaching in primary schools first in Taiwan in 2004。

Later, under the New Curriculum Reform, English teachers in mainland China try to learn this teaching approach。 Then, English Picture Book is applied wildly in primary schools。 Through such teaching approach, the atmosphere of class become more relaxed and active and more and more students have developed interest in English。 They also acquaint with lots of foreign culture and are willing to know more folk custom by learning English knowledge after class。

However, with the innovation and development of English Picture Book in English teaching, there come a lot of problems。 The first one is unscientific choosing ways of English Picture Book。 The second is the traditional and single teaching method where teachers mainly focus on developing students' English reading and listening ability by reading books。 The next problem is the lack of the expansion of English Picture Book。 What's more, in class teaching, teachers will extract the difficult knowledge and emphasis, making the rest of the book useless。
