摘近几年，新课程改革的出现体现着全新的教育思想和理念。新课程理念更注重于能力培养。但是在传统教育理念下，中学生的英语阅读能力是一个很容易被忽略却很严峻的问题。在本文中，作者通过文献分析法和比较法首先分析了新课程理念; 其次探讨了目前中学生阅读现状以及影响因素; 最后在阅读能力培养方面提出了一些有效的建议。希望本文可以对提高中学生的阅读能力有一定帮助。39390

Abstract In recent years, the new innovation of curriculum reflects brand-new education thought and idea. The new course concept requires us to pay more attention to the cultivation of ability. Under the influence of the traditional education, the reading ability of middle school students is an often oversight but actually very serious problem. In this paper, the author will use methods of documentation and comparison to analyze the new course concept, and then the author will discuss the present situation of reading ability and the key factors affecting reading ability. At last, the author will give some effective suggestions on the reading ability. Hopefully this paper will be helpful to the cultivation of students’ reading ability under the new concept.

I. Introduction
With the development of the economy in our country, we are living in an era of internationalization. The world is moving further toward multi-polarization and economic globalization. In a certain sense, economy globalization itself is or means culture globalization. With this background, it is very important to cultivate a group of highly educated young people with foreign languages. When we communicate with others, reading always occupies the key position. And it is very useful when we want to get information and learn about the outside world.
It is very difficult for us to develop oral and writing ability without reading. Reading is also important for the middle school students, not only in the exam but also in the daily life. Influenced by the traditional course concept, there are still many problems existing in the reading. The reading ability is an often oversight but actually constitutes a very serious problem in English study. The author will take that problem apart and analyze it in great detail. The new educational reform keeps an eye on the students’ all-sided development and life-long development. It is necessary to give some effective suggestions on the reading ability. The author will share some opinions on cultivating reading ability of middle school students under the new course concept in this paper.
