Abstract The twenty-first Century is an era of information explosion, with science and technology developing each passing day, so we need to use critical thinking to maintain a clear head and independent consciousness, grasp unprecedented opportunities and face persified challenges。 During the past years in our country, the educators only force children to cram knowledge and put less emphasis on stimulating students to think independently, attributing to lack of critical consciousness and ability to innovate in China。 However, what is gratifying us is that, through continuous reforms in education, the national education department eventually begins to pay increasing attention to critical thinking training。 According to this paper, English course is taken as an example to study the reliable methods of training  critical thinking in teaching in primary schools in China。 It will mainly focus on the effectiveness and meaning of the debate-style teaching, which can be applied in cultivating critical thinking in primary English class。 Then, it will offer the author’s suggestions on overcoming the defects in debate-style teaching。73938

摘要21 世纪是一个信息爆炸、科技日新月异的时代,我们需要运用批判性思维 来保持清醒的头脑和独立的意识,以面对前所未有的机遇和挑战。然而,由于我 国原本的教育重技术,轻思维,导致许多人才独立意识缺失、批判思维僵化、创 新能力薄弱。令人欣慰的是,近几年,我国教育在不断的改革中开始越来越重视 批判性思维的培养了。本文就以英语学科为例,将研究指向国内小学英语教学中 批判思维的培养。重点阐述辩论式教学在小学英语课堂中对于有效培养批判思维 的意义,并对国内辩论式教学的不足之处提出拙见。
