2。 Brief Introduction to Exam-oriented Translation

2。1 Importance of acquiring translation skills

With the progress of globalization process, the exchange and cooperation among countries gradually increase。It goes without saying that the importance of English as the official language of international exchanges。

In the traditional English teaching, it usually emphasizes the cultivation and improvement of four basic abilities in "listening", "speaking", "reading" and "writing"。 However, as the fifth great skill, the translation is not paid enough attention in English learning。 Actually, the translation ability plays an indispensable role in the usual English learning and examinations as well as works。 It is the further application and sublimation of language skills as well as the capacity requirements at a higher level。 There will be a very wonderful breakthrough on the aspects of words and grammar foundation, reading ability even writing and oral ability in English with the improvement of translation。

2。2 Reform of CET-6 and Testing Targets of CET-6 Translation 

In the past, there was a problem of "paying more attention to the introduction of culture than the cultural exportation" , which led to the serious culture dumbness in our country and affected the external communication effectiveness of Chinese culture。文献综述

We once focused on understanding the world but now, with China's rising and the accelerated internationalization process, laid emphasis on letting the world to understand China 。 General Secretary Xi Jinping puts forward the strategy "going global of Chinese culture", that is to say, our country has absorbed a lot of Western culture。 China's current economic strength has significantly improved。 We want to economically affect the world and let China be understood by the people in Western countries through contacting the Chinese culture, it must turn "welcoming" into "going global"。 （Peng 146）

Since December 2013, the implementation of translation patterns in new CET 6 fully reflects such development trend。 Before 2013, the translation in CET 6 investigated the translation ability of candidates with sentence-filling sections。 After the outline changes, the sentence translation turns into the translation of essays with more emphasis on the connection and coherence in the discourse, which undoubtedly and greatly increases the difficulty of translation。 Moreover, it only sets the Chinese to English paragraph translation module in CET 6, which is for the target of testing candidates' language skills with which they can introduce China to the whole world and requiring candidates to use English to accurately express the information carried in Chinese words。

There are two major sources for topics of translation in CET 6: Chinese history and culture, such as the Silk Road in China and Spring Festive; another topic is the social economy, such as the pollution governance in Beijing。
