4。1 The importance of Lead-in文献综述
As the saying says that "a good beginning is half done," lead-in is the first step in teaching procedure and it plays a major role in English teaching。 Lead-in has two primary purposes: help students to review the knowledge learned previously and introduce the new knowledge。 If the lead-in is correct and appropriate, the students will be attracted by the topic and think of the issue actively。 The meaning of teaching is to enlighten students to participate in the classroom teaching。 Because the students are in middle school, they can not control themselves very well, so that the design of lead-in is especially the key point that helps them self-control。 There are many methods of lead-in, and now lead-in is widely used in teaching vocabulary, grammar, reading and speaking。
If the teacher could design the lead-in stage full of attraction, then the students would have much more interest in the class。 Also, this could give students inspirations and motivations so that the students’ learning system could be strengthened through the actual learning。 At the same time, the interaction between teachers and students could be much better, and teachers would feel better in the beginning part in the class as well。 An essential way to catch the students’ interest is making interactions with them。 If teachers could catch the students’ interest successfully, then they would be willing to participate in the activities which were designed by the teachers, and they would follow the teachers’ instructions, learn the new units and complete the tasks。 It is obvious that the lead-in stage is of great importance in the whole classroom teaching, so teachers should design this part with wisdom and interest。
