The Skopostheorie breaks the framework of the Functional Equivalence Theory and turns attention to the initiators, translators, and recipients of translation, which gives the translation new more meanings。 It has great practical meaning and theoretical meaning to translation。 Recently, Skopostheorie has attracted more and more attention in mainland China so that I am interested in it。 Because the research of Skopostheorie has great potential, I learn it through the study of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince。

2。 Skopos Theory

2。1 Introduction of Skopostheorie文献综述

Skopostheorie, an important translation theory of the German Functionalist School, was founded in the 1980s by two famous Germany translation theorists: Hans J。 Vermeer and Katherina Reiss。 Skopostheorie is not in pursuit of "equivalence" or other faithful concepts and linguistic research methods, but emphasizes on the function and intention of translation and analyzes and solves the problem of translation with functional communication from the perspective of Translation Action and Intercultural Communication。 According to Vermeer, the translation action, whose result will produce "target language text", is a kind of intentional, interpersonal and intercultural communication action。 Skopostheorie holds the view that if someone wants to do some translation, three major rules should be obeyed during the translation process, namely, Skopos Rule, Coherence Rule, and Fidelity Rule。 Among them, the Skopos Rule lies in the core position because the intended purpose of translation decides methods and strategies。 Adequacy is the essential attribute of translation, so the requirements of a translation task must be fully met in it。 In other words, from the perspective of communication function, if the translation achieves the intended purpose, the translation action succeeds。 Skopostheorie puts emphasis on the concept that the core of translation process is the purpose of the overall translation。 Therefore, translators should pay attention to the purpose and function of communication and give more attention to the specific requirements of translation, such as communication purposes, the intended functions of the translation, readers, media, publishing times and publishing places, translation purposes or motivations and so on。 After determining the requirements, translators should compare the original text with the specific requirements, including historical, social and cultural background, readers’ reading psychology and other related factors。 Finally, the work can be started closely on the purpose of translation。
